Children’s Ministries

The following are the regularly planned activities as well as proposed activities for 2018 and beyond.

Weekly Sunday school

All children are invited to attend the weekly Sunday school starting at 10:15 AM (downstairs). The children come back upstairs for the consecration of the Eucharist in holy Communion around 10:50.

Special Events throughout the year (cycle starts in September)

– Taste of orthodoxy festival children’s booth (Saturday September 30, 2017)
– All Saints’ Day dress up (Sunday October 29, 2017)
– St. Nicholas’ Day (Sunday December 3, 2017)
– St. Lucy’s baking (to be confirmed, possibly Sunday December 17, 2017)
– Children’s Theophany (Three Kings’ Cakes) (Sunday January 7 or 14, 2017 – to be confirmed)
– Scheduled children’s sermons (every other month, see Annual Parish Schedule)
– St Patrick’s Day for children (Sunday March 18, 2018)
– Pascha Egg Hunt (Sunday April 8, 2018)
– Parish Picnic at Freshwater Park (with games!) (Sunday May 13 or 20, 2018 – to be confirmed)
– St John’s Family Camp (in Oregon, organized by St John the Wonderworker Parish in Eugene)(August 2018, to be confirmed)

  • Altar service (for boys and teens and men)

  • Weekly evening group (Every Thursday 5:45 – 7:45)
